Humans are weird. And dogs are the best.

My husband is fond of telling me I have “dog-like qualities,” and I take that as a compliment. Born in the Year of the Dog, I really do believe there’s a bit of canine in my soul. I love dogs and live with two of them (currently, Zoey and Jasper, who still make the occasional appearance in these columns).

I started this Substack by writing about my dogs every week for a year (at that time, it was called Be the Dog). At that point, I turned our attention to the vagaries of human behavior and psychology. If people’s quirks and human psychology interests you, you’ll love Being Human. I tackle a different topic each week, depending on what strikes my fancy and what’s going on in the world. Once in a while I’ll also share some of my fiction (short stories or my ongoing novel-in-progress, Love Bugs).

I do hope you subscribe and join the fun. I always love hearing from you, too. And if you choose a paid subscription, well, I’ll be tickled. And probably love you for life. Because I’m very dog-like that way.
